Quick answer
kenha.co.ke regional-offices-corridor-contacts, contact-us, faqs (Oct 26 2026): 10 regions, corridors A-D, HQ Barabara Plaza JKIA, toll-free 0800211244; director names omitted (pages conflict); Western email rd.werstern as published.
Updated 26 October 2026
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) runs Kenya’s national trunk roads through a head office at JKIA, ten regional offices and a set of corridor management offices. If you need to report a damaged highway, ask about a road project near you, follow up on a way leave or access road approval, or raise a complaint about a contractor, the regional office covering your area is usually the fastest route.
This list is taken from KeNHA’s own Regional Offices and Corridor Contacts page, its Contact Us page and its FAQs on kenha.co.ke. Phone numbers and postal addresses are given exactly as KeNHA publishes them. We have left out the names of regional directors because KeNHA’s own pages show different names for the same office, which usually means postings have changed and not every page has been updated. Ask for the regional director’s office rather than a named person.

KeNHA head office contacts
The headquarters is at Barabara Plaza, Blocks A and C, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), off Airport South Road along Mazao Road, opposite the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority offices.
| Contact | Details |
|---|---|
| Postal address | P.O. Box 49712-00100 Nairobi |
| Main lines | 020 4954000 and 0700 423606 |
| Telkom line | 020 2989000 |
| Toll-free line | 0800 211244 |
| Director General | dg@kenha.co.ke |
| Complaints | complaints@kenha.co.ke |
| Integrity (corruption reports) | integrity@kenha.co.ke |

The toll-free line is the best first call if you are not sure which region handles a road, because the stretch you are on may fall under a corridor office rather than the nearest regional town.

KeNHA’s FAQs say the Authority has ten regional offices: Nairobi, Western, North Eastern, Lower Eastern, Upper Eastern, North Rift, South Rift, Coast, Central and Nyanza. Each is run by a regional director and is reached through a dedicated rd. email address.
| Region | Office town | Phone | Postal address | |

Two details are worth knowing before you dial. First, KeNHA lists the Nyeri office with a 061 landline, the same area code it shows for Kisumu, so if the landline does not connect, use the mobile number instead. Second, the Western region email appears on KeNHA’s page as rd.werstern with an extra r. If a message bounces, copy complaints@kenha.co.ke and the head office line so it still reaches the Authority.
KeNHA corridor offices
Alongside the regions, KeNHA runs corridor management offices for its busiest long-distance routes. The FAQs mention three corridor offices, while the contacts page lists four, Corridor A to Corridor D. All of them use the head office postal address.
| Office | Phone | |
|---|---|---|
| Corridor A | 020 7843315 | corridoranorth@kenha.co.ke |
| Corridor B | Not listed | cd.corridorb@kenha.co.ke |
| Corridor C | 020 2989655 | dd.corridorc@kenha.co.ke |
| Corridor D | Not listed | Not listed |
Where KeNHA gives no phone number for a corridor office, call the head office or the toll-free line and ask to be put through.
What KeNHA does, and what it does not
KeNHA gets its mandate from the Kenya Roads Act, 2007. It designs, builds, rehabilitates and maintains national trunk roads, which are Class S, A and B roads. Class S roads link two or more cities and carry heavy, fast traffic. Class A roads are strategic routes to border crossings and international ports or airports. Class B roads link county headquarters and trading hubs to each other, to Nairobi and to Class A roads.
That means a pothole on a major highway is a KeNHA matter, but a pothole on an estate road or a feeder road usually is not. Rural and secondary roads fall under the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), urban roads under the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), and many smaller roads under county governments. Calling the right agency first saves a lot of back and forth.
Traffic offences, driving licences and number plates are handled by the National Transport and Safety Authority, not KeNHA. For those, see our guides on paying NTSA instant fines and checking a vehicle owner on NTSA TIMS.
Permits handled by KeNHA
KeNHA’s FAQs list four types of permits: exemption permits for abnormal or wide loads, directional signage approvals, way leave approvals for communication, power, water and sewer lines, and access road approvals. Permits are applied for strictly online through the KeNHA website, payment is by direct bank deposit or M-Pesa, and KeNHA says processing takes a maximum of five working days. Questions on a pending permit can go to kenhapermits@kenha.co.ke, with your regional office copied if the works are in its area.
Tolls, tenders and jobs
KeNHA oversees tolled highways such as the Nairobi Expressway, the 27.1 km road from Mlolongo to James Gichuru Road. For the wider toll plans on Nairobi’s bypasses, read our report on Treasury’s toll concessions for the Southern and Northern bypasses and the story on the James Gichuru to Rironi toll road investor.
Tenders are published in the tenders section of the KeNHA website. Internship applications go through the Public Service Commission, while students looking for attachment write directly to KeNHA’s Human Resource office with the documents their university requires. For current engineering and public sector openings, check the listings on JobinKenya.
How to report a road problem so it gets acted on
- Name the road and the nearest town or landmark, for example the A8 near a named market or junction.
- Describe the problem plainly: a pothole, a washed-out culvert, a missing guard rail, a broken street light or a stalled contractor.
- Attach a clear photo and, if you can, a map pin.
- Send it to the regional email for that area and copy complaints@kenha.co.ke.
- Keep the date and any reference number, and follow up by phone after a week.
Report bribery or extortion by anyone claiming to work for KeNHA to integrity@kenha.co.ke. If you see a crash or a road blocked by flooding, call the police or emergency services first, then let KeNHA know.
