Updated 18 October 2026

With KPSEA and KJSEA starting on 26 October, many parents are looking for a revision site or app that will actually help in the final stretch. There are plenty of options, and they are very different from each other: a free government library, paid video-lesson apps, AI tutors and quiz sites. We checked each service below in October 2026, looked at what it offers today and what it charges, and noted where we could not confirm a price.

The list is ranked for exam revision. CBC Guides comes first because it is built around the KPSEA, KJSEA and KCSE formats, its practice papers mark themselves as your child answers, and its CBC Challenge quizzes are free with no app or account. Each entry also says who the service suits best, because the right choice depends on your child’s grade and what they need help with.

1. CBC Guides (Our Top Pick)

CBC Guides is a newer revision site for Kenyan parents, and our top pick for exam revision this term. Its free CBC Challenge is a ten-question quiz for Grades 4 to 9 in Mathematics, English or Science, marked as the child answers, with a one-line explanation and a result card at the end. It needs no app or account. The site also has online practice papers in the KPSEA and KJSEA formats, plus some KCSE-style papers, that mark themselves and show worked answers, along with parent guides to the assessments, school fees and a senior school finder.

Why it leads: it is focused on the exams themselves, its papers are auto-marked, and the quizzes cost nothing, which suits the final weeks before KPSEA, KJSEA and KCSE. Most of the site is free. Its Learner plan, for full timed papers, worked answers and saved scores, costs KSh 500 a month after a 7-day free trial, and payments are opening soon. Limits: it is new, and the paper library is still growing; Grade 9 papers now cover Pre-Technical Studies, Agriculture and Creative Arts & Sports, with Grades 7 and 8 still to come, and its questions are checked by the CBC Guides team rather than approved by teachers or KICD. The papers are original practice, not KNEC papers.

2. Kenya Education Cloud (KICD)

The Kenya Education Cloud is run by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, the body that writes the curriculum. It lists CBC content for Grades 1 to 9 and 8-4-4 content for Forms 1 to 4, with adapted material for learners with special needs. According to its FAQ page, content includes EduTV lessons, radio lessons with transcripts and digital textbooks. Airtel Kenya made the platform free of data charges on its network from 5 October 2025, tech-ish reported.

Good for: families who want official, curriculum-aligned material at no cost. Limits: it is a content library, so it is better for learning or re-learning a topic than for timed exam practice with marking.

3. Zeraki Learning

Zeraki Learning, from the company behind the Zeraki school analytics system, offers video lessons by Kenyan high school teachers, topical quizzes, science simulations and standardised exam papers with marking schemes. It is aimed at secondary students, so it fits KCSE candidates better than CBC learners. When Safaricom added it to the My Safaricom app in 2022, it said plans started from KSh 20 a day. In November 2023, Zeraki advertised daily, weekly and monthly plans at KSh 150, KSh 800 and KSh 1,900. Prices may have changed, so check in the app before paying.

Good for: Form 3 and Form 4 students who learn well from video. Limits: paid, and not built around junior school CBC.

4. Elimu Pepe (LoHo Learning)

LoHo Learning was set up by Longhorn Publishers, Safaricom’s newsroom says, and its content draws on KICD-approved books. Its main product, Elimu Pepe, offers CBC and 8-4-4 lessons, assessments and interactive content from Grade 1 to Form 4, and it is designed to work offline and on low-end devices. The subscription page offers daily, termly and yearly plans paid by M-Pesa or airtime, but it shows prices only after you verify a Safaricom line, so we could not confirm them.

Good for: families who want textbook-style content on a phone or tablet, including offline. Limits: pricing is not public, and sign-up is tied to Safaricom.

5. Elimufy

Elimufy is an AI learning app for Grades 4 to 9. A parent or learner pastes a topic or photographs notes or an assessment, and the app turns it into marked practice questions with a step-by-step tutor. It says each AI-generated question is checked by a second AI model before a learner sees it. It is free to start with a daily allowance, and paid features use M-Pesa credits at about KSh 1 per credit.

Good for: a learner who has good class notes and wants practice built from them. Limits: the quality depends on the material you feed it, and AI-generated questions are worth checking against the textbook.

6. Myfuture CBC Revision

Myfuture CBC Revision is an Android app by Ibuka Technologies for Grades 1 to 9. It offers auto-marked quizzes, CBC notes, contests and rankings, and simple games such as quick maths and dictation. Its Play Store listing was last updated on 22 September 2026.

Good for: learners who are motivated by points and competition. Limits: Android only, and quizzes rather than full timed papers.

7. eLimu World

eLimu World makes curriculum-linked learning games for children in Kenya and Nigeria, such as Math Ninja, Shapes Trivia and Time Machine. It suits younger children building basic skills more than Grade 6 or Grade 9 exam revision. Its site does not list prices.

Services We Checked but Did Not List

  • Kytabu: its website now describes AI tools for teachers and schools that are still in research and pilot stages, with nothing for learners to sign up to today.
  • GotIt Study: a GotIt Study site exists, but it is a revision tool for British GCSE students, not Kenyan CBC learners.

How to Choose

  • Start free. The Kenya Education Cloud, the CBC Challenge and the free tiers of Elimufy and Myfuture cost nothing to try. Pay only once you know your child will use a service.
  • Match the tool to the job. Lessons and videos help with topics your child does not understand. Timed, marked papers help with exam technique. In the last week before an assessment, the second matters more.
  • Check the device and data cost. A browser-based quiz works on an older phone, while video apps use far more data.
  • Be wary of “past paper” downloads. KNEC owns its papers. Free PDFs often carry home-made marking schemes with errors.
  • Keep it short. Thirty to forty-five minutes of active practice a day beats hours of passive scrolling.
