Quick answer: The Monarch Insurance Company’s main customer lines are 0724 635 700 and 0705 426 931, both shown on its website as available 24 hours a day. The head office landlines are 020 4292 000, 020 2338132/37 and 020 4292 100, and the email is info@monarchinsurance.co.ke. Every contact on this page comes from Monarch’s own website (its Contact, Branches, FAQ and product pages), checked in October 2026. Monarch does not publish an M-Pesa paybill number on its site, so we have not listed one. Read the payment section below before you send money to any number that claims to be Monarch.

Monarch Insurance Branches and Office Hours

Monarch’s branch page lists three offices: the head office and a Westlands branch in Nairobi, and one branch in Mombasa. There is no branch in Kisumu, Nakuru or Eldoret on that list, so customers outside Nairobi and Mombasa usually deal with Monarch through the phone lines, email or an insurance agent.

Office Location Phone Email
Head office Chester House, 1st Floor, Koinange Street, Nairobi 020 4292 000, 020 2338132/37, 0705 426 931, 020 4292 100 info@monarchinsurance.co.ke

Mombasa branch Jubilee Insurance Building, 3rd Floor, Moi Avenue, Mombasa (P.O. Box 90585-80100) 041 2318348, 041 2318347 mombasa@monarchinsurance.co.ke

The branch page gives the same hours for all three offices: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, and Saturday, 9.00am to 1.00pm. The Contact page shows slightly different weekday hours (8.00am to 5.00pm, with the same Saturday hours), so if you plan to walk in early, call first.

What Monarch Insures

Monarch describes itself as a composite insurer, meaning it writes both general (non-life) and life business. Its website says the company was founded in 1979. The product pages on the site cover:

  • Motor: private cars, motorcycles, public service vehicles, commercial vehicles, driving schools, general cartage, special vehicles and motor trade (road risk). Motor cover comes as third party only, third party fire and theft, or comprehensive.
  • Personal and accident cover: personal accident, group personal accident and a domestic package for homes.
  • Business and engineering: fire and perils, consequential loss, burglary, money, fidelity guarantee, contractors’ all risks, contractors’ plant and machinery, electronic equipment, machinery breakdown and industrial all risks.
  • Liability: public liability, professional indemnity, carriers’ liability and work injury (WIBA) cover.
  • Marine: goods in transit and marine hull.
  • Bonds: customs, immigration security, performance, tender and surety undertaking bonds.
  • Life: group life cover for employers, personal life cover and an education plan.

The site does not publish premium rates. To get a price you fill in the quote form on the relevant product page, use the WhatsApp line, or go through an agent. Proposal forms for most classes (for example fire, burglary, domestic package, personal accident, marine, WIBA and bonds) can be downloaded from the Forms page.

How to Make a Claim With Monarch

  1. Report the loss quickly. Call 0724 635 700 or 0705 426 931, or email info@monarchinsurance.co.ke, and note the name of the person you spoke to.
  2. Use the claim form. Monarch has an online claims form on its website, and each product page links to a claim form for that class of cover.
  3. For a death under a life policy, Monarch says the family can use its online claim notification form or call 020 4292 000.
  4. Attach evidence. For motor claims this usually means a police abstract, photos, the driver’s licence and a repair estimate. For property claims, keep receipts and photos of the damage.
  5. Keep copies of everything you send and ask for a claim reference number.

If your motor claim involves a vehicle that has not been inspected or whose cover has lapsed, sort that out first. Our guide to NTSA motor vehicle inspection fees explains when inspection is required.

Paying Premiums Safely

Monarch’s website has a “Make a payment” link and an online portal at bima.monarchinsurance.co.ke, but it does not print a paybill number anywhere we could find. Before paying:

  • Ask Monarch (by calling the head office or emailing info@monarchinsurance.co.ke) for the official payment details, and get them in writing.
  • Pay only into an account in the name of The Monarch Insurance Company, never into a personal M-Pesa number.
  • If you bought through an agent, make sure they are licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) and ask for an official receipt for every payment.

Cancelling a Life Policy: the 30-Day Cooling-Off Period

Monarch’s FAQ says you have 30 days to change your mind after a life policy starts, counted from the start date or the day you receive the policy documents, whichever is later. If you cancel within that period, Monarch says it refunds any premiums you have paid. You can still cancel after 30 days, but the premiums already paid are not refunded.

Complaints and Escalation

Start with Monarch itself: put the complaint in writing to info@monarchinsurance.co.ke, quote your policy and claim numbers, and keep the reply. The website also has a Complaints link under its quick service links. If you are not satisfied with how Monarch handles it, the Insurance Regulatory Authority handles complaints about insurers.
