Solution Sacco at a glance
SASRA’s official 2026 register lists Solution Sacco Society Ltd as a licensed deposit-taking SACCO, with its head office at Meru Mwalimu Plaza, Gakoromone Road, Meru (Meru County). Deposit-taking SACCOs can offer both BOSA (back-office) loans backed by your deposits and FOSA (front-office) banking services.
What rate should you use?
Solution Sacco does not publish its loan rates on the web, and they are set by its board and approved by members. Until you get an official quote, the calculator uses an indicative rate of 12% p.a. reducing balance, which is typical for SACCO development loans. It is editable, so update it once you know your product’s rate.
Getting the most from this tool
Try a few scenarios: different amounts, shorter and longer terms, and both calculation methods. A longer term lowers the monthly deduction but raises the total interest. Flat-rate loans charge interest on the full amount for the whole term, so they cost more than reducing-balance loans at the same headline rate.
How much can you borrow?
Most SACCO loans depend on your deposits. A common rule is up to three times your savings, backed by guarantors who are fellow members. Ask the Sacco for its exact multiplier. Your ability to repay, usually judged from your payslip or business income, also caps the amount.
Reducing balance vs flat rate
Most SACCO development and emergency loans charge interest on a reducing balance: each month you pay interest only on what you still owe. Some advances and mobile loans use a flat rate, where interest is charged on the original amount for the whole term. On a KES 100,000 loan over 12 months at 12%, reducing balance costs about KES 6,619 in interest, while flat rate costs KES 12,000. Use the method switch above to compare.
Plan ahead
Once you have a figure, save or print the repayment schedule and compare it with your monthly budget. If the deduction feels tight, extend the term a little or reduce the amount, then check again. Small changes can make a big difference to both affordability and the total interest you pay.

Why are SACCO rates lower than bank rates?

Is Solution Sacco licensed?
Yes. It appears on SASRA’s 2026 list of licensed deposit-taking SACCOs.
