Where Times U Sacco is based

Times U Sacco Society Ltd is headquartered at Nkubu, KCB Road, Nkubu, Meru County, and is on SASRA’s 2026 list of licensed deposit-taking SACCOs. That means it is supervised on capital, liquidity and governance, just like the other SACCOs on the list.

Times U Sacco interest rates

We could not find loan rates published by Times U Sacco online (checked 13 October 2026). The calculator is therefore prefilled with an indicative 12% a year on a reducing balance (1% a month), a common rate among Kenyan SACCOs. Replace it with the rate Times U Sacco gives you.

How to use the calculator

  1. Choose a loan product or keep the default rate.
  2. Enter the amount you want to borrow and the term in months.
  3. Check that the method (reducing balance or flat) matches your loan.
  4. Tap “Show repayment schedule” to see each month’s principal and interest.

Loan limits and guarantors

Unlike banks, SACCOs lend mainly against your deposits and your guarantors’ deposits. Ask the Sacco for its exact multiplier. Keep up regular monthly contributions, because the longer and more consistently you save, the more you can borrow.

SACCO loan or bank loan?

Commercial banks in Kenya lent at an average of 14.34% in August 2026 (CBK), and most bank loans need a payslip or collateral. SACCO loans are often cheaper and accept guarantors in place of collateral, but you usually need to save for several months before you qualify. Run both options through our bank and SACCO calculators before you decide.

Tips to borrow wisely

  • Borrow for productive needs, such as school fees, land, business stock or farm inputs.
  • Keep the installment within about a third of your net income.
  • Protect your guarantors by repaying on time.
  • Keep a copy of the repayment schedule to check against your statements.
