How to book a Guardian Coach ticket

  1. Online: use “Book Online” on The Guardian Coach website, pick your route, date and seat, and pay.
  2. By phone: call 0722 221 290, 0726 511 628 or 0111 056 560 to reserve a seat, then pay as the agent tells you.
  3. At the office: visit the Railways head office, River Road or your nearest upcountry branch.

Keep the ticket SMS or receipt, and get to the stage at least 30 minutes before departure. Only pay through the official channels you were given when you booked; fraudsters sometimes post fake “booking numbers” on social media.

Guardian Coach fares

The Guardian Coach does not publish a fare table on its website. Fares depend on the route, the seat class and the season, and they go up during peak holidays. Call any of the booking numbers above for the fare on your date. To compare other operators on similar routes, see our Easy Coach contacts and Buscar contacts guides.

Tips for travelling to Nyanza and Western Kenya

  • Choose your boarding office. Railways and River Road are both in Nairobi CBD. Ask which one your bus leaves from when you book.
  • Night or day travel. Long routes such as Nairobi to Busia or Migori take most of a day, so pick a departure that gets you in before dark if you are carrying luggage or travelling with children.
  • Luggage. Label your bags with your name and phone number and ask about the free luggage allowance before you travel.

Parcel delivery and group hire

The Guardian Coach also offers counter-to-counter parcel delivery across its routes, plus executive coaches for school trips, tours, events and company travel. To send a parcel, take it to the booking office with the receiver’s name and phone number, declare what is inside, and pay the parcel charge. For group or corporate hire, call the head office with your dates, route and number of travellers.
