Quick answer

To repay a MyKes loan, go to M-Pesa, Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay Bill, enter business number 4047993 and your registered phone number as the account, then confirm the payee is Deltech Capital before entering your PIN. You can also repay from the MyKes app, which shows the current Paybill and balance.

Updated 19 October 2026

MyKes (also written MyKeS) is a mobile loan app run by Deltech Capital Kenya Limited. If you have a MyKes loan, you can repay it through the M-Pesa Paybill or from inside the app. This guide shows both methods, how to make sure your money reaches the right account, what late repayment can cost and what to do if you are being harassed over a loan.

Before you borrow again, note one important point: when we checked the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Directory of Digital Credit Providers updated on 9 July 2026, Deltech Capital Kenya Limited was not on the list. Only lenders on that directory are licensed by CBK to give digital loans. We explain what that means for you further down.

How to Repay a MyKes Loan via M-Pesa Paybill

  1. Open the M-Pesa menu on your Safaricom line or the M-Pesa app.
  2. Select Lipa na M-Pesa, then Pay Bill.
  3. Enter the business number 4047993. This is the Paybill most widely published for MyKes repayments.
  4. Enter your phone number (the one registered on your MyKes account) as the account number.
  5. Enter the amount you want to repay.
  6. Check the name shown on the confirmation screen. It should show Deltech Capital. If it shows any other name, cancel and use the in-app method below.
  7. Enter your M-Pesa PIN and confirm.

You should receive an M-Pesa confirmation SMS straight away and a message from MyKes once the payment is posted to your loan. Keep the M-Pesa message: the transaction code is your proof of payment if the balance does not update.

One older guide lists a different Paybill, 4047921. Lenders sometimes change numbers, so the safest source is always the repayment screen inside your own MyKes app, which shows the current Paybill and your exact balance.

How to Repay From the MyKes App

  1. Open the MyKes app and log in.
  2. Go to your loan and tap the repay or pay loan option.
  3. Enter the amount. The app sends an M-Pesa prompt (STK push) to your phone.
  4. Enter your M-Pesa PIN on the prompt to complete the payment.

The app method is useful because it fills in the correct Paybill and account number for you, which removes the risk of sending money to the wrong business.

MyKes Loan Terms

MyKes’s own website advertises a product called MyKesPro with loans of up to KSh 50,000, repayment in instalments of up to three months and a “low interest rate” of 0.05%, without explaining whether that rate is daily, weekly or monthly. Independent repayment guides published in 2024 describe the standard MyKes loan differently: amounts of up to KSh 5,000, repayable in seven days, at about 32% for the period, with a late fee of 2% a day. On those figures, a KSh 5,000 loan would cost about KSh 1,600 in interest for one week.

Because these figures do not match, read the loan offer screen in the app carefully before you accept any loan. It should show the amount you will receive, the total you must repay and the due date.

What Happens If You Repay Late?

  • Penalties grow quickly. Repayment guides report a late fee of 2% of the balance for each day overdue, which adds up to about 14% in a week.
  • Your credit record can suffer. Lenders that report to Credit Reference Bureaus can list unpaid loans, which affects future borrowing. Our guides on how to check your CRB status and how to improve your credit score explain how to check and repair your record.
  • You may get calls about the debt. MyKes has been criticised in several guides for contacting people in borrowers’ phone contacts. Contacting your friends, family or employer to shame you over a debt is not allowed under Kenyan data protection rules.

Why the CBK Licence Matters

Since the CBK (Digital Credit Providers) Regulations of 2022, any company lending money digitally in Kenya must be licensed by CBK. Licensed lenders must disclose their full costs, follow fair debt collection rules and handle complaints. A lender that does not appear on the CBK directory is outside that oversight, which makes it harder to resolve disputes over charges.

This does not cancel a loan you have already taken, so you should still repay what you genuinely owe. But before borrowing again, check that the lender is on the CBK directory, and compare it with regulated options such as M-Shwari, Fuliza or a SACCO loan.

What to Do If You Are Harassed Over a MyKes Loan

  1. Keep screenshots of messages and a log of calls, including numbers and times.
  2. Tell the lender in writing, through its email help@mykes.co.ke, that you object to contact with third parties.
  3. File a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and report the lender to CBK. Our step-by-step guide on reporting loan app harassment to the ODPC and CBK covers both.
