Where Harambee DT Sacco is based
Harambee DT Sacco Society Ltd is headquartered at Harambee Sacco Plaza, Haile Selassie Avenue, Nairobi, Nairobi County, and is on SASRA’s 2026 list of licensed deposit-taking SACCOs. That means it is supervised on capital, liquidity and governance, just like the other SACCOs on the list.
Published interest rates
According to Harambee DT Sacco’s official site (harambeesacco.com, checked 13 October 2026), its loans are priced as follows:
- Development loan (1% p.m. reducing)
- Jisaidie Top-up loan (1.15% p.m.)
- Karibu loan (1.25% p.m.)
- Emergency / School fees loan (1% p.m. flat) – flat rate
Pick a product from the dropdown to load its rate. If your loan offer shows a different figure, type that in instead.
Getting the most from this tool
Try a few scenarios: different amounts, shorter and longer terms, and both calculation methods. A longer term lowers the monthly deduction but raises the total interest. Flat-rate loans charge interest on the full amount for the whole term, so they cost more than reducing-balance loans at the same headline rate.
How much can you borrow?
Most SACCO loans depend on your deposits. A common rule is up to three times your savings, backed by guarantors who are fellow members. Harambee DT Sacco publishes these limits: Development 3x savings; Karibu and Jisaidie up to 4x savings. Your ability to repay, usually judged from your payslip or business income, also caps the amount.
SACCO loan or bank loan?
Commercial banks in Kenya lent at an average of 14.34% in August 2026 (CBK), and most bank loans need a payslip or collateral. SACCO loans are often cheaper and accept guarantors in place of collateral, but you usually need to save for several months before you qualify. Run both options through our bank and SACCO calculators before you decide.
Plan ahead
Once you have a figure, save or print the repayment schedule and compare it with your monthly budget. If the deduction feels tight, extend the term a little or reduce the amount, then check again. Small changes can make a big difference to both affordability and the total interest you pay.
