Fees and tax

Kuza charges a 2.00% management fee, the standard level in the market. The fee is taken out before the yield is published, so the 10.31% figure is already after fees. What is not taken out is the 15% withholding tax on interest, which the fund deducts for KRA before paying you. It is a final tax, so you do not declare it again on iTax. The fund held about KES 2.4 billion in assets in mid-October 2026.

How to join the Kuza fund

Opening an account is done directly with the fund manager, either online or at their office. You will need your national ID or passport, your KRA PIN, a phone number and the bank account or M-Pesa line you want withdrawals sent to. Once the account is open you deposit through the manager’s paybill or by bank transfer.

Kuza money market fund withdrawal time

There is no lock-in period. Most Kenyan money market funds pay withdrawals within one to three working days, either to M-Pesa or to your bank. If you need the money the same day, ask the manager before you invest, because cut-off times vary.
