ATRSC fees: what we know

ATRSC’s website and prospectus list the courses but not the fees. Some websites quote small figures for ATRSC courses, but none link to an official fee structure, so we do not repeat them here. The centre advertises flexible payment terms, so ask for the fee per term, the exam body fees (IATA exams are charged separately by many colleges), uniform costs and the hostel charge when you call. Get the fee structure in writing, on the centre’s letterhead, before you pay anything.

To compare what other colleges charge for travel and hospitality courses, see our TVET fees guide. If you want to fund your studies with a loan, check the HELB guide to see if your course and college qualify.

Cabin crew requirements

The ATRSC prospectus sets physical requirements for the International Cabin Crew course, because airlines screen for them at recruitment:

  • Maximum weight: 72 kg for men and 62 kg for women.
  • Minimum height: 176 cm for men and 161 cm for women.

The course covers IATA/UFTAA travel and tourism, cabin crew duties, air transport essentials, passenger and cabin services and airline customer service, with first aid, swimming and a 3-month industrial attachment.

Entry requirements and how to apply

The prospectus says a school leaving certificate is generally required, with extra requirements for some courses, and that adult learners are welcome. The centre gives priority by order of application, so apply early.

  1. Pick your programme on the ATRSC website or in the prospectus.
  2. Fill in the application or inquiry form on the website, or visit the Karen office.
  3. Return your admission letter to the ATRSC office on or before the admission date. If you miss it, call to check whether a slot is still open.
  4. Confirm the fees and payment method directly with the centre before paying.

What ATRSC says it offers students

  • Two international languages free with each course and free computer lessons.
  • Flexible class times between 7am and 8pm, evening classes and short courses.
  • Local and overseas industrial attachment placement.
  • Visits to 5-star hotels and a free 2-day safari each term.
  • Hostels, sports facilities and guidance and counselling.

After you finish, look for airline, hotel and travel agency openings on Job in Kenya.
