Capital Gains Tax applies when you transfer property that falls under the CGT rules, at the rate in the Finance Act for that year. Confirm with KRA or your lawyer whether your transfer is in scope.

  1. Confirm the transaction is a taxable transfer.
  2. Compute gain using allowable cost bases as KRA defines them.
  3. Declare and pay through iTax as required for registration.
  4. Keep valuations, agreements and payment slips.
