Updated 2 November 2026
Equity Bank charges are low on the app and higher at the counter and agent. An Equity Ordinary Account has no monthly fee and opens with KSh 400; an Equity ATM withdrawal costs KSh 30, another bank’s ATM KSh 200, and sending KSh 1,000 from your Equity account to M-Pesa costs KSh 13. PesaLink transfers up to KSh 1,000 are free, then KSh 50 up to KSh 100,000. Agent withdrawals are the expensive part: KSh 28.75 for KSh 2,500 or less, rising to KSh 258.75 for KSh 50,001 to 100,000.

How to cut your Equity Bank charges
- Do Equity-to-Equity transfers on the app (free) rather than the branch (KSh 100).
- Use PesaLink for amounts under KSh 1,000 (free) and for anything up to KSh 100,000 (KSh 50).
- Withdraw at Equity ATMs, not agents, for anything above KSh 2,500.
- Close dormant accounts properly; reactivation and closing both cost money.
