Updated 18 October 2026

To download your JKUAT admission letter, go to the JKUAT Admission Portal at admission.jkuat.ac.ke, sign up with the details on your KUCCPS placement, log in, and open the admission documents section to download your letter as a PDF. JKUAT says the default password is your KCSE index number followed by the exam year, for example 1530005096/2021. If you get stuck, call the JKUAT contact centre on 0709 715 815 or email customercare@jkuat.ac.ke.

Step-by-step: how to download your JKUAT admission letter

  1. Confirm your placement. Make sure you have received the KUCCPS message or placement result showing that you have been placed at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
  2. Open the portal. Visit admission.jkuat.ac.ke on a phone or computer. JKUAT’s information page for new students tells KUCCPS-placed students to use this portal to sign up and download their admission letter and other documents.
  3. Create your account. Choose the sign-up option and enter your details exactly as they appear on your KCSE and KUCCPS records, including your index number and an email address you can access.
  4. Log in. Use your email and password. The portal says the default password is your index number followed by the exam year, such as 1530005096/2021.
  5. Download the documents. Open the admission section, download your admission letter, and also download the fee structure, joining instructions and any forms listed.
  6. Save and print. Keep a PDF copy on your phone and print copies for reporting day, HELB and HEF applications and other offices that may ask for proof of admission.

Portal tips from JKUAT

  • Do not create two accounts. JKUAT warns online applicants not to create a duplicate account and to log in to track their existing application.
  • Self-sponsored applicants who apply manually should use a unique email if they are registering for a separate self-sponsored application.
  • Inter-university transfers: if KUCCPS approved your transfer to JKUAT, JKUAT says you should visit admission.jkuat.ac.ke to create your account and download your admission documents.
  • Upload documents early. JKUAT asks all new students to create an account on the admission system and upload relevant documents before reporting week.

What to do after downloading the letter

Apply for government funding

Government-sponsored students must apply for scholarship and loan funding through the official portal at hef.co.ke. JKUAT says students who do not apply will not get the subsidised government fees and will pay like self-sponsored students. After you receive your funding award, log in to the JKUAT admissions portal again to download your HEF letter, which shows your updated Semester 1 fee. See our HELB guide for how loans and scholarships work.

Pay fees and book a room

JKUAT lists its fee collection accounts on its new-students page, including KCB, Co-operative Bank, Equity Bank and Absa accounts. Only pay into the accounts on the official JKUAT page or your fee structure. First-year hostel rooms are booked on hostel.jkuat.ac.ke on a first-come, first-served basis, and you should only pay accommodation fees if your booking succeeded. Compare costs on our JKUAT fees page.

Report on time

For the 2026/2027 intake, JKUAT set first-year reporting for Tuesday 1 September 2026 at 8am, with registration and document verification by school or college. Bring your KCSE certificate or result slip, national ID, passport photos, medical cover details and your printed admission letter.
