Magadi Sacco Dividend Calculator 2026

Magadi Sacco Dividend Calculator 2026

Updated 17 October 2026

Magadi Sacco paid 17% on share capital and 10% on deposits for 2025. That is a clear drop from the 20% and 12% it paid for 2024. If you are comparing Saccos on last year’s headline, the gap matters, so use the calculator below with the new rate.

Rates are what was last published, gross of tax. Money market funds are compounded monthly; bills, bonds, deposits and SACCO returns are worked out as simple interest. Your actual return will differ.

Magadi Sacco Rates by Year

Financial year Dividend on shares Interest on deposits
2025 17% 10%
2024 20% 12%

On KSh 100,000 of deposits, the cut from 12% to 10% means KSh 2,000 less interest before tax.

About Magadi Sacco

Magadi Sacco began operations in 1977 in Magadi, Kajiado County, the soda ash mining town after which it is named. It is a small Sacco with a little over 5,000 members, and its office is in the PAM View Building in Magadi town.

Example Payout for 2025

The minimum share capital is 200 shares at KSh 100, or KSh 20,000. A member with that and KSh 120,000 in deposits would earn KSh 3,400 in dividend and KSh 12,000 in interest, KSh 15,400 in total. After the 5% withholding tax that is KSh 14,630. At the 2024 rates, the same balances would have earned KSh 18,400 before tax.

How Magadi Compares With Other Saccos for 2025

Magadi’s 10% deposit rate is now toward the lower end among Saccos that announced 2025 results. According to the Co-op News roundup of 2026 announcements, Tower and Yetu paid 13% on deposits, Ports 12.5%, and Gusii Mwalimu and Kenya National Police 11%. Nation Sacco, also at 10%, likewise cut its rate this year. On the dividend side, Magadi’s 17% matches IG and Kenya National Police.

A rate cut does not mean a Sacco is in trouble, but it is a reason to read the AGM report before adding more money. Look at whether loans are being repaid, how much cash the Sacco holds, and whether deposits are still growing. If you mainly want a return on idle cash rather than access to loans, compare the 10% with what a money market fund pays after its fees.
