Unison Sacco, the Nanyuki-based Sacco that started out as Laikipia Teachers Sacco, paid 18.5% on share capital and 12.6% on non-withdrawable deposits for 2025. Its board recommended the rates in its 2026 AGM report. In that report the Sacco calls its shares “Silver Shares” and its deposits “Silver Deposits”. Estimate your payout below.

Rates are what was last published, gross of tax. Money market funds are compounded monthly; bills, bonds, deposits and SACCO returns are worked out as simple interest. Your actual return will differ.

From Laikipia Teachers to Unison

The Sacco was founded in 1977 as Laikipia Teachers Sacco and rebranded as Unison Sacco in 2014. Its head office is in Nanyuki.

2025 in Numbers

  • Non-withdrawable member deposits: about KSh 5.92 billion at 31 December 2025
  • Net loan book: about KSh 8.77 billion

In its AGM report the board urged every member to hold at least one Unison loan product. Interest on loans is what pays the 12.6%, and the board pointed out that the deposit return applies only to the amount each member has actually saved.
