A Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) confirms you have filed your returns and paid your taxes. It is often needed for tenders, jobs and licences.
Steps
- Log in to iTax.
- Go to Certificates, then Apply for Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC).
- Fill in the form and submit.
- If you are compliant, KRA issues the TCC, which you can download from iTax and which is sent to your email.
If it is rejected
KRA lists the reasons, such as unfiled returns or unpaid tax. File the missing returns (a nil return if you had no income), pay or agree a plan for outstanding tax, then apply again.
Validity
A TCC is valid for 12 months. Apply before the old one expires if you need continuous cover.
