Updated 23 October 2026
Yetu DT Sacco, a Meru-based Sacco that has grown quickly over the last few years, paid 19% on share capital and 13% on deposits for 2025. That ties it with Tower for the highest deposit rate among large Saccos that had announced results by March 2026. The calculator below shows what 13% would earn on your own deposits.
Rates are what was last published, gross of tax. Money market funds are compounded monthly; bills, bonds, deposits and SACCO returns are worked out as simple interest. Your actual return will differ.
The preset applies 13% to deposits. For the dividend, enter your share capital and switch the rate to 19%. The calculator deducts the 5% withholding tax.
Yetu’s Payout History

| 2024 | 19% | 13% |
The Growth Story
At the AGM in Meru in early 2025, which reviewed 2024, chief executive Denis Kirimi reported that Yetu had crossed the KSh 1 billion revenue mark for the first time in its 33-year history. It had added more than 20,000 members in one year, reaching 104,159. Assets grew 23%, and net profit rose 58% to KSh 238 million. Loans and advances rose 37% to KSh 5.5 billion, and deposits grew 20% to KSh 4.9 billion, helped by its branch banking business.
When a Sacco grows this fast, look at two numbers: deposit growth and loan quality. Loans growing faster than deposits, as they did at Yetu in 2024, push a Sacco to manage its liquidity carefully. Keep an eye on the next AGM report to see whether the 13% deposit rate can be held.

Example
KSh 100,000 in deposits at 13% earns KSh 13,000. KSh 10,000 in shares at 19% earns KSh 1,900. Together that is KSh 14,900 before tax, or KSh 14,155 after the 5% withholding tax.
