Updated 17 October 2026

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) trains most of Kenya’s mid-level health workers through a network of campuses across the country. The official KUCCPS institutions list, checked on 17 October 2026, shows 98 KMTC campuses in 45 of Kenya’s 47 counties. This guide lists every campus by county and explains how applications work.

How KMTC Applications Work

KMTC applications go through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), not through each campus. The KUCCPS portal runs a separate KMTC application window and shows its own countdown for KMTC and Kenya Utalii College deadlines. You choose a programme and a campus, and KUCCPS places you based on your KCSE results and the places available.

  1. Check that you meet the minimum KCSE grades for the course. Most KMTC diplomas ask for a mean grade of C (plain) with specific subject grades, and certificates usually ask for lower grades, but the exact requirements change with each intake. Confirm them on the KUCCPS KMTC programmes page before you apply.
  2. Log in to the KUCCPS student portal with your KCSE index number and year, and open the KMTC section.
  3. Pick your programme and campus choices. A campus near home can cut your accommodation costs, so use the county list below.
  4. Pay the application fee through eCitizen and submit before the deadline.

Before you upload anything, our KMTC upload size tool and compressor resizes your documents and passport photo to the required limits in your browser.

KMTC Programmes for the Current Intake

When we checked on 17 October 2026, KUCCPS had not yet declared 2026/2027 programmes on the individual KMTC campus pages. The same was true for the other colleges we checked, so college programmes for the next cycle had not been published yet. We will add the programme list once KUCCPS publishes it. Until then, you can read about one of the most popular KMTC courses in our guide to the KMTC Diploma in Community Health. If you are weighing KMTC against a degree, our clinical medicine cut-offs and nursing cut-offs show what universities required in 2025.
