Braeburn School on Gitanga Road, Nairobi, is part of the Braeburn Group of International Schools and follows the group’s admissions policy. It runs a rolling admissions process, so children can join during the school year when places are available. This guide covers the official requirements and the 2026/2027 fees published on the school’s website.

Age Requirements

Children are placed strictly by age, counted on or before 31 August of the year of entry.

Year group Age by 31 August
Crèche 2
FS1 (Nursery) 3
FS2 (Reception) 4
Year 1 to Year 9 5 to 13 (Year 1 at 5, rising one year per year group)
Year 10 14 to 15
Year 11 15 to 16
Year 12 16 to 17

In the Prep School, children are never placed above their age band, whatever their ability. In exceptional cases a child may go one year below, normally only with strong evidence such as an educational psychologist’s assessment. Parents of children born in July or August can choose to hold them back a year.

Documents You Need

  • A copy of the child’s passport or birth certificate.
  • The child’s two previous school reports.
  • A leaving certificate from the previous school, where applicable.
