How to reach Mater customer care fastest

  1. Emergency: call 0719 073 051 or go straight to Accident and Emergency at the main hospital on Dunga Road. Don’t wait on the general line.
  2. Appointments at a medical centre: call the centre’s own number from the table. It’s faster than the main switchboard and the staff know the clinic schedule.
  3. Bills, insurance and SHA questions: call the call centre on 0719 073 000 and ask for billing or the insurance desk.
  4. Complaints and compliments: email feedback@materkenya.com with the patient’s name, hospital number and date of visit.

Paying with SHA or insurance

Before treatment, confirm that your cover applies at the specific centre you plan to visit, since outpatient arrangements can differ from inpatient ones. See our guide to SHA accredited hospitals in Nairobi and how SHA works and how to register. You can also check that any facility is licensed using our KMPDC facility check guide.

Common issues

  • Can’t get through on the main line: try the second number (0732 163 000), or call the medical centre nearest you.
  • Specialist not available: clinics run on set days, so ask the centre for the next clinic date or a referral to the main hospital.
  • Medical reports and records: requests usually need the patient’s ID and hospital number. Email inform@materkenya.com first to ask about the process.
