Based on questions people sent to Safaricom’s official X account (@Safaricom_Care) and Safaricom’s own replies, checked on 14 October 2026. Questions are paraphrased. Where Safaricom has not confirmed something publicly, we say so.

App login and activation

Safaricom says activate the app on Safaricom mobile data (not Wi-Fi), with the Safaricom SIM in slot 1 on dual-SIM phones (Safaricom on X, 10 Oct 2026). If it misbehaves, clear the app cache and data (Settings > Apps > app > Storage) and retry (Safaricom on X, 10 Oct 2026).

Bundle expiry

Safaricom says expiry follows the package validity period, not the exact time of purchase (Safaricom on X, 14 Oct 2026).

Frequently asked questions

Why won’t the Safaricom app activate on Wi-Fi?

Safaricom says first activation needs Safaricom mobile data on that line; you can switch to Wi-Fi after.

Why did my 30-day bundle expire before the hour I bought it?

Safaricom says expiry follows the validity cycle, not the purchase time.
