This page lists every open government tender published on the Public Procurement Information Portal, refreshed automatically every morning. Search by keyword, filter by category, county and closing date, or show only tenders reserved for youth, women and persons with disabilities under AGPO. Tenders drop off the list automatically once their closing date passes, so everything you see is still open.

Where These Tenders Come From
All public bodies in Kenya, from ministries and state corporations to county governments, NG-CDF committees, public universities and schools, must advertise their tenders on the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) run by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority. We read the portal’s list of active tenders each day and show the key facts: the title, the procuring entity, the category, the procurement method, any AGPO reservation, the reference number, the publication date and the closing date. We leave out the names and contacts of individual officers and bidders.
How to Use the Filters
- Search: type what you supply or build, for example “cleaning”, “laptops”, “borehole”, “road” or “catering”. Every word must appear in the title, entity or reference.
- Category: works and construction, goods and supplies, non-consultancy services such as cleaning, security and transport, or consultancy and expressions of interest.
- County: tenders from county governments, county assemblies, NG-CDF committees and other bodies in that county. National bodies based in Nairobi appear under “National bodies and not stated” unless their name includes a county.
- Closing: show tenders closing within 7 or 14 days, sorted by deadline, or only those published in the last week.
- AGPO only: tenders reserved for enterprises owned by youth, women or persons with disabilities.
How to Bid for a Government Tender
- Get the tender document. Search the reference number on tenders.go.ke and download the document, which is usually free. Read the eligibility requirements, the mandatory documents and the evaluation criteria.
- Prepare your compliance documents. Most tenders ask for a certificate of incorporation or business registration, a CR12 for companies, a KRA PIN and a valid tax compliance certificate, plus licences specific to the work, such as National Construction Authority registration for construction.
- Check for addenda. Entities often change closing dates or requirements through an addendum. Check before you submit.
- Submit on time and in the stated way. Many tenders now require electronic submission. Late bids are rejected.
AGPO: The 30% Reserved for Youth, Women and PWDs
Procuring entities must allocate at least 30% of their procurement spend to enterprises owned by youth, women and persons with disabilities under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities programme. To qualify, a business must be registered and at least 70% owned by the target group, with 100% of its leadership from that group. Youth are those aged 18 to 34. You register on the AGPO portal and receive a certificate valid for two years. See our AGPO tenders page for open reserved tenders.
