Updated 25 October 2026
This finder lists 161 Nairobi branches of four banks: Equity (47), KCB (54), Co-operative Bank (43) and SBM Bank (17). Type an estate, a street or a mall, switch banks on or off, and the register narrows as you type. Every entry comes from the bank’s own branch directory, checked on October 25, 2026.

How to use the branch finder
Start with the estate you live or work in, such as Kayole, Donholm, Kilimani or Westlands. The finder matches the estate tag, the branch name and the address line, so “Ngong Road”, “Mall” or “Kimathi” also work. Use the bank buttons to hide the banks you don’t use. If nothing matches, try the nearest main road or the next estate, because many branches serve several neighbourhoods. For example, residents of Lavington, Kileleshwa and Dagoretti Corner often bank at branches tagged Kilimani, Lavington or Dagoretti.
The estate tag is our own grouping to make searching easier. Banks name branches after a street, a building or a mall, so we added the estate or area each branch sits in, using the address the bank publishes. CBD covers the city centre streets, including Kenyatta Avenue, Moi Avenue, Tom Mboya Street, River Road and Haile Selassie Avenue.
Where the data comes from
- KCB Bank: the branch list at ke.kcbgroup.com/branches. KCB gives a location line for each branch and one contact centre number for all of them, 0711 087 000 or 0732 187 000. Most KCB branches open 8:30am to 4pm on weekdays and 8:30am to noon on Saturdays. Platinum and airport branches keep longer hours.
- Co-operative Bank: the Nairobi branch directory at co-opbank.co.ke. Co-op publishes a branch code and direct phone numbers for each branch rather than a street address, so the finder shows the branch code. Branch codes are useful when you fill in an EFT or RTGS form.
- Equity Bank: Equity’s branch network for Nairobi, as listed in our Equity Bank branches in Nairobi guide. Equity routes branch calls through its contact centre on 0763 000 000.
- SBM Bank: SBM’s branch directory, with the building, phone line for each branch and opening hours in our SBM Bank branches in Nairobi guide. For paybill and SWIFT details, see the SBM paybill and contacts page.
Before you visit a branch
Branch networks change. Banks close, merge and rename branches, and some branches inside malls or institutions keep different hours. Call the bank’s contact centre or the branch number before a long trip, especially on Saturdays and public holidays, when most branches close early or stay shut. Carry your original national ID or passport, because branches will not open an account or process a large withdrawal on a photocopy.
Many routine jobs no longer need a branch visit. Balance checks, statements, transfers and loan repayments can be done through each bank’s app, USSD code or agent network. You still need a branch for things like replacing a lost card in some cases, signing loan or mortgage documents, safe deposit services and some account changes for companies, chamas and saccos.
Frequently asked questions
Which bank has the most branches in Nairobi?
In this register KCB has 54 Nairobi branches and Equity has 47, followed by Co-operative Bank with 43 and SBM with 17. The counts cover only branches each bank lists for Nairobi and leave out agents and ATMs.
Are KCB branches in Ruaka, Ruiru, Syokimau and Kitengela included?
No. Those towns are in Kiambu, Machakos and Kajiado counties, so the KCB entries are left out. Co-operative Bank files its Two Rivers Mall branch under Nairobi, so it appears here with the tag Ruaka.
Do bank branches open on Sunday in Nairobi?
The four banks’ standard branches close on Sundays and public holidays. Use the app, USSD or an agent for urgent transactions.
How do I find a branch code?
Co-operative Bank codes are shown in the finder. For the other banks, ask the branch or check the code on your cheque book or bank statement.
