How to Pay Geminia Premiums With M-Pesa

1. Open M-Pesa, choose Lipa na M-Pesa, then Pay Bill.
2. Enter business number 553201.
3. For the account number, use your policy number or the reference on your debit note. Geminia does not publish a separate account format, so ask the customer line if your documents are unclear.
4. Enter the amount and your PIN, then keep the confirmation SMS.

How to Make a Motor Claim With Geminia

Geminia’s motor insurance page offers two claim documents for download: a Motor Accident Report Form and a Motor Vehicle Theft Claim Form. The practical steps are:

1. Report the accident or theft to the police and get an abstract. See how to get a police abstract.

3. Download and fill in the right form from the motor insurance page.
4. Send the form with photos, the police abstract, a copy of the driver’s licence and the logbook to info@geminia.co.ke or a branch.

What Geminia Motor Insurance Covers

Geminia offers the three standard levels of motor cover:

Its listed benefits include windscreen and radio cover, free vehicle valuation, emergency medical expenses, riot and strike cover and towing charges. Extras you can buy include an excess protector, a courtesy car, road rescue membership, political violence and terrorism cover and a life rider. Geminia says it insures vehicles up to 15 years from the year of manufacture; older vehicles need a mechanical inspection before cover is considered.

Excess Amounts Geminia Publishes

An excess is the first part of a claim you pay yourself. Geminia’s FAQ page gives these excesses for its home-type cover:

• Earthquake: 2% of the sum insured, up to KSh 5,000,000.
• Contents: 10% of each loss, minimum KSh 5,000.
• Mobile phones under all risks: 10% of each loss, minimum KSh 1,000.
• Other all-risks items: 10% of each loss, minimum KSh 5,000.
• Work injury benefits for employees: KSh 5,000 per claim, excluding funeral expenses.
• Employer’s liability: KSh 25,000 per claim.

• Travel insurance: medical expenses, personal accident, personal liability, cancellation and curtailment. Geminia says you must cancel at least a day before travel to get a premium refund, and the cover must be bought before you leave.
• Dog and pet insurance: pays if an insured pet dies from an accident, illness or vet-advised euthanasia, and refunds vet fees for accidental injuries. Pets must be microchipped.
