This free Secret Santa WhatsApp generator draws names for your office, family or chama and gives you a private WhatsApp link for each person, so nobody, not even the organiser, has to see who got whom. Set a budget in shillings, list everyone with their WhatsApp number, and mark couples or teammates who should not draw each other.

How to run a Secret Santa WhatsApp draw
- Type the event name, for example “Finance team party 2026”.
- Set the budget per gift in KSh. KSh 1,000 and KSh 2,000 are common for office groups.
- Add one person per line: name, WhatsApp number, and an optional group. Numbers can start with 07 or 01; the tool changes them to the 254 format WhatsApp needs.
- Tap “Draw names”. You get one green button per person.
- Tap each button. WhatsApp opens a chat with that person and a ready message holding their private link. Send it.
When each person opens their link, they see only the name of the person they are buying for, the budget and the event name.
Stopping couples and teammates from drawing each other
The third column is the group. Anyone who shares a group name cannot be drawn by someone else in that group. Use it for:
- Couples and siblings in a family draw, for example “couple1” or “kamau-family”.
- People who sit in the same team in an office draw, if you want gifts to cross departments.
- Members of a chama who already exchange gifts at home.
The Secret Santa WhatsApp generator also stops anyone from drawing themselves. If your groups make a fair draw impossible, for example when one group holds more than half the people, it tells you so instead of producing a bad result.
Is the Secret Santa WhatsApp draw private?
Yes, as long as each person opens only their own link. The result is stored inside the link itself, not on a server, so there is no list for anyone to look up later. That also means you should not forward a person’s link to someone else, and the organiser should avoid tapping the links before sending them. Keep the page open until everyone has their message, because a new draw gives new pairs.

- Say whether the budget includes wrapping.
- Ask people to write one or two likes in the group chat, so gifts are easier to choose.

Ask the organiser to resend it from the same results page. If the page was closed, run a new draw and send everyone their new link.
