Repayment basics
Repayment starts within a year of completing studies. HELB fines at least KES 5,000 for each unpaid month. You can request a compliance certificate on the portal if you are repaying consistently, or a clearance certificate when you finish. Estimate instalments with the HELB repayment calculator.
