HELB expects repayment once you leave college and meet the repayment triggers in your loan agreement. Ignoring repayment can lead to interest growth and CRB listing.

Ways to pay

  • HELB paybill and account number shown on your HELB portal or demand notice
  • Bank payment slips generated from the portal
  • Check-off if your employer has an arrangement with HELB
  1. Log in to the HELB beneficiary portal.
  2. Confirm your outstanding balance and reference numbers.
  3. Pay using the official paybill or bank details HELB displays.
  4. Keep the M-Pesa or bank confirmation.
  5. Download clearance or compliance documents when you have finished paying.

More detail on CRB and clearance: HELB repayment and CRB and clearance certificates. Job offers that need clearance are listed on Jobs in Kenya.
