Under Kenya’s Access to Government Procurement Opportunities programme, public bodies must set aside at least 30% of their procurement spend for businesses owned by youth, women and persons with disabilities. This page shows every open tender on the public tender portal that is reserved for these groups, refreshed each morning. Filter by county, category or closing date, or search for what you supply.

Who Qualifies for AGPO
To bid for reserved tenders, your business must hold a valid AGPO certificate. According to the AGPO programme, the enterprise must be a registered legal entity with at least 70% of its membership drawn from youth, women or persons with disabilities, and 100% of its leadership from that group. Youth means people aged 18 to 34. Some tenders are reserved for one group, for example only women, so check the label on each tender.

How to Register for AGPO
- Register your business as a sole proprietorship, partnership or limited company with the Business Registration Service.
- Get a KRA PIN for the business and a valid tax compliance certificate.
- Gather scans of the owners’ IDs, the business registration certificate or certificate of incorporation, the CR12 for a company or the partnership deed for a partnership, and for persons with disabilities, the registration document from the National Council for Persons with Disabilities. Construction businesses also need National Construction Authority registration.
- Create an account on the AGPO portal, register the business and upload the documents. Huduma Centres can help with the process.
- Once approved, you receive an AGPO certificate valid for two years. Renew it before it expires, because expired certificates drop off the list of valid suppliers.
Tips for AGPO Bidders
- Keep your tax compliance certificate and AGPO certificate valid at all times.
- Start with smaller supply and service tenders near you to build a track record.
- Read the mandatory requirements first. Most rejections are for missing documents, not price.
