The cheapest way into padel in Nairobi is a coached beginner session at BFit in Karen, which costs KSh 1,000 a person and runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6pm to 7pm. Once you can rally, Americano tournaments at clubs in Karen and Westlands cost KSh 2,000 to KSh 3,000 a player for about two hours of matches, and they are the easiest way to meet regular players at your level.
This guide covers the coaching programmes and social formats that Nairobi’s clubs publish, what an Americano actually is, how the level numbers work, and the fixtures listed for the coming week. For court hire on its own, see our guide to padel court prices in Nairobi.
The Weekend Ledger lists venues on merit. No venue paid to appear, and every price below comes from the venue’s own website or its official booking listing, checked on October 25, 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you pay.

What Is an Americano?
An Americano is a social padel tournament. Players sign up on their own, and the organiser rotates partners after every short match, so over two hours you play with and against most of the group. Each player keeps an individual points total, and the highest total wins. A Team Americano keeps fixed pairs and rotates the opponents instead.
Because entry is per player, you do not need to bring three friends. That makes Americanos the usual route for newcomers to Nairobi, who often arrive knowing nobody.
How Padel Levels Work
Most Nairobi clubs use the Playtomic level scale, which runs from 0 to 7. Tournaments are advertised for a level band, such as “2 to 2.5” or “3 to 3.9”, and the app adjusts your level as you record results.
| Level | Rough meaning | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 1.9 | New, or still learning grip, footwork and the serve | Coached beginner sessions |
| 2.0 to 2.9 | Comfortable rallying, learning to use the walls | Beginner and level-2 Americanos |
| 3.0 to 3.9 | Consistent, plays tactically at the net | Intermediate Americanos and leagues |
| 4 and above | Competitive club player | Advanced Americanos and tournaments |
Networks Padel Village groups its academy players the same way: Beginner (0 to 2), Intermediate (2 to 3.4), Advanced (3.5 to 4.4) and High Performance (4.5 and above). BFit runs separate WhatsApp groups for 0 to 1.9, 2.0 to 2.9 and 3.0 to 3.9, and entry to the top group needs a coach’s approval.

A Four-Week Plan for a Complete Beginner
- Week 1: book two coached beginner sessions (at BFit, KSh 2,000 in total) and hire a racket each time.
- Week 2: one more coached session, then a Thursday Mix to play real games without pressure.
- Week 3: enter a beginners’ Americano at your level. Record the results in Playtomic so your level updates.
- Week 4: book a 90-minute court with three people you met, and split it in the app.
On BFit’s published prices, that month costs roughly KSh 9,000 including racket hire each time and your quarter share of a 90-minute court, a little less if you bring your own racket.
Etiquette Newcomers Should Know
- Arrive five to ten minutes early. Slots run back to back and the next group will be waiting.
- Wear non-marking court shoes. Padel Kenya Westlands says so in its house rules, and others expect it.
- Enter the right level. Signing up for a band far above your level spoils the games for everyone else.
- Cancel early. Many clubs give a full refund only if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead.
