You can join if you are:

Applicants must be Kenyan residents aged 18 or over, and the membership form states that a member should not belong to more than one Sacco.

How to join

  1. Apply online through the “Join Us” option on the Kentours website, which links to the Sacco’s member registration portal. The Sacco launched online applications in a member circular dated 19 March 2026.
  2. Alternatively, download and fill in the individual membership application form and return it with your documents.
  3. Pay the entrance fee and start your share capital and deposit contributions, either by check-off through your employer or by direct payment.

The Sacco does not accept cash at its office. It takes cheques, electronic transfers, standing orders, direct bank deposits and M-Pesa.

Kentours Sacco loans

You qualify for most loans six months after you register. The exception is the Karibu Loan, which has a three-month waiting period. Loans are secured by your own deposits, by guarantees from other members’ deposits, or by assets that meet the Sacco’s credit policy. For members who do not pay by check-off, only the part of your deposits that is not already guaranteeing someone else’s loan counts as security.

Loan What the Sacco says about it
Normal Loan Up to 3 times your deposits, to a maximum of KSh 15,000,000
Instant Loan Up to 3.5 times your deposits, to a maximum of KSh 500,000, after at least 6 months of membership
Premium Loan For members whose deposits are too small for other products
Emergency Loan For emergencies such as accidents, hospital bills and court fines
Home Appliance Loan For household items such as water tanks, TVs, fridges and phones
School Fees and Super School Fees Loans For education costs
Asset Finance, Bank Loan Bailout and Consolidation Loans For buying assets and clearing or combining loans held elsewhere
Salary Advance, Karibu, Jipange, Junior, Guarantor and M-Jisort mobile loans Shorter-term and special-purpose products

Interest rates and repayment periods are set out on each product page and in the loans and dividend calculator on the Sacco’s website. To see what monthly repayment you can afford before applying, try our loan affordability calculator or compare other options in our list of Sacco loan calculators in Kenya.

Savings products

  • Member deposits: the regular monthly savings that give you membership rights and decide how much you can borrow.
  • Share capital: non-withdrawable savings, with a minimum of 450 shares.
  • Jipange Savings: a goal-based account for things like festivities and anniversaries.
  • Junior Savings: an account a member opens for a child under 18, which the Sacco says earns 6% interest a year.

Like other Saccos, Kentours shares its surplus with members as dividends on share capital and interest on deposits once its annual accounts are approved. Our Sacco dividend calculator shows how the payout on your own balances is worked out.

How to pay Kentours Sacco through M-Pesa

  1. Go to Lipa na M-Pesa and choose Pay Bill.
  2. Enter business number 194740.
  3. For the account number, type the product code followed by your membership number. For example, member 234567 paying a Normal Loan enters NML234567.
  4. Enter the amount and your M-Pesa PIN, then confirm.

Normal M-Pesa charges apply, and only one Safaricom number registered in your own name can be linked for mobile banking.

Bank payments go to Kentours Regulated Non-WDT Sacco Society Limited, account 01120000563700 at Co-operative Bank, Green House Mall branch (bank code 11153, SWIFT KCOOKENA).
