Where Kenya Power jobs are advertised
The official source is the Careers section of kplc.co.ke, which lists open roles, industrial attachment intakes and the link to the candidate portal. Each listing shows the job title, a job reference number in the format “HR: KP1/…” and whether the role is full time. Use the reference number in any correspondence about your application.
Kenya Power, a listed company that distributes and retails electricity across Kenya, also posts adverts in national newspapers and on its official social media pages from time to time. If you see a Kenya Power job advert anywhere else, check that the same role, with the same reference, appears on the careers page before you apply.
Kenya Power jobs listed on the careers page
When we checked on 7 November 2026, the careers page listed, among others:
- an industrial attachment advert for the January to March 2027 intake;
- an Audit Manager, General and Forensic Audit role (reference HR: KP1/5B.2/1/3/2063);
- earlier attachment intakes and management roles that remain on the page as past adverts.
Older listings can stay visible after they close. Open the advert and read its closing date before you start an application, and do not assume a role is still open because the link works.
How to apply for Kenya Power jobs: 6 steps
- Go to the careers page on kplc.co.ke and open the vacancy or attachment advert you want.
- Register on the candidate portal if you are new. The careers page links to a registration page on Kenya Power’s e-recruitment system. Use an email address and phone number you check daily.
- Read the candidate application guide linked on the careers page. It explains how the portal works.
- Complete your profile: personal details, education, professional qualifications, work history and referees. Candidates who registered on the old portal are asked to log in and confirm their registration details.
- Log in and apply for the specific opening. Answer any screening questions and upload the documents the advert asks for.
- Save proof of submission and track your status in the portal. Shortlisted candidates are contacted for the next stage.
Apply early for Kenya Power jobs. Portals often slow down near closing dates, and a half-finished profile may not be considered.
Documents to prepare
Each advert lists its own requirements, so read it carefully. For most professional roles, have these ready as clear scanned copies:
- national ID card;
- academic and professional certificates and transcripts;
- an up-to-date CV that matches the job’s requirements point by point;
- evidence of membership of a professional body where the role requires it;
- for senior roles, any clearance certificates the advert asks for, such as tax compliance or credit reference clearance.
Tailor your CV to each of the Kenya Power jobs you apply for. Recruiters at large employers compare each applicant against the listed requirements, so show clearly where you meet each one.
Industrial attachment at Kenya Power
Kenya Power runs industrial attachment intakes several times a year. The careers page has shown intakes for May to July 2026, September to November 2026 and January to March 2027. Each attachment advert sets its own eligibility, eligible courses and required documents, such as an introduction letter from your college, so read it in full before applying.
Attachment is a useful entry point to Kenya Power jobs later. It gives students practical exposure to power distribution, ICT, finance and other departments, and builds experience for later applications.
