Equity Bank Charges 2026: Account, ATM and M-Pesa Fees

Updated 2 November 2026

Equity Bank charges are low on the app and higher at the counter and agent. An Equity Ordinary Account has no monthly fee and opens with KSh 400; an Equity ATM withdrawal costs KSh 30, another bank’s ATM KSh 200, and sending KSh 1,000 from your Equity account to M-Pesa costs KSh 13. PesaLink transfers up to KSh 1,000 are free, then KSh 50 up to KSh 100,000. Agent withdrawals are the expensive part: KSh 28.75 for KSh 2,500 or less, rising to KSh 258.75 for KSh 50,001 to 100,000.

Updated November 2026 from Equity Bank (Kenya) Limited’s official Products and Services Tariff Guide and Credit Tariff Guide, both marked “Revised in February 2025” and still the versions linked from Equity’s site in November 2026. Charges exclude excise duty unless stated.

How to cut your Equity Bank charges

  1. Do Equity-to-Equity transfers on the app (free) rather than the branch (KSh 100).
  2. Use PesaLink for amounts under KSh 1,000 (free) and for anything up to KSh 100,000 (KSh 50).
  3. Withdraw at Equity ATMs, not agents, for anything above KSh 2,500.
  4. Close dormant accounts properly; reactivation and closing both cost money.
