What AA Premier driving adds for KSh 50,000
AA introduced Premier Driving School in 2019. According to AA Kenya, Premier learners get:
- flexible training times you can change by phone;
- “best-in-class” facilities for theory and practical lessons;
- the smart driving licence;
- a two-day defensive driving programme;
- a personal instructor; and
- a condensed curriculum.
Because the smart licence is listed as a Premier benefit, compare the KSh 25,100 price gap with what you would pay separately for the licence and a defensive course before choosing.

For comparison, see our breakdown of Five Star Driving School fees. AA’s own pitch is longevity and recognition: it says it has trained drivers for over six decades and is recognised by government, international organisations and corporates. If you are unsure which class you need, our guide to driving licence categories and minimum ages explains A2, A3, B1, B2, C and G.
Regular or Premier: which AA course should you pick?
The regular AA Kenya course at KSh 24,900 suits most learners who can attend lessons at fixed times and are happy to pay for the licence separately. Premier, at KSh 50,000, makes more sense for busy professionals who need lessons rescheduled around work, want one instructor throughout, and value the bundled defensive driving programme. Companies sending staff for training often pick Premier or the assessment course because the defensive driving element supports fleet safety policies.
Whichever option you choose, budget for time as well as money: confirm the number of practical lessons in your package, how far ahead you must book, and whether the branch offers weekend or evening slots.
Refresher and assessment courses
AA’s refresher course is for licensed drivers who want to relearn safe driving, and its driver assessment, used by employers before hiring or as a safety audit, covers basic car care, vehicle control, driving in traffic, signals and road signs, roundabouts and junctions, the Highway Code, attitude and defensive driving. The AA Technical and Road Safety Institute also runs defensive driving, fleet management, DOSHS-regulated first aid and fire marshal courses, driver instructor and plant operation courses.
