Sasini Dividend History 2026: Payouts, Results and Ticker

Updated 2 November 2026

Sasini dividend: Sasini PLC did not pay a dividend for the financial year ended 30 September 2025, the second year in a row with no payout, after paying KSh 1.50 per share for FY2023 and KSh 1.00 for FY2021 and FY2022. The board recommended no dividend even though the company returned to a profit of KSh 188.0 million in FY2025, on revenue of KSh 8.44 billion.

Below is Sasini’s dividend history, its five-year results, how the business makes money and what to watch before the next results for the year to 30 September 2026. Figures are from the Group Managing Director’s presentation to Sasini’s 74th AGM on 5 March 2026 and the NSE listed companies page, read 2 November 2026.

Sasini dividend history (FY2021 to FY2025)

Financial year (to 30 Sept) Dividend per share Dividend cover Profit after tax
FY2021 KSh 1.00 1.90 times KSh 573.2m
FY2022 KSh 1.00 4.80 times KSh 1,168m
FY2023 KSh 1.50 1.82 times KSh 542.5m
FY2024 Nil n/a Loss of KSh 562.9m
FY2025 Nil n/a KSh 188.0m

Sasini’s AGM presentation says the dividend policy “reflects a prudent stance on liquidity preservation”. In other words, management chose to keep cash for 2026 expansion rather than pay out the FY2025 profit. Earnings per share improved to KSh 0.85 in FY2025. Sasini says net asset value per share rose from KSh 59.00 in 2021 to KSh 93.87 in 2025, total capital employed was KSh 24.87 billion, and the group is financed 86% by equity.

How Sasini makes money

Sasini has five lines of business: growing, processing and selling tea; growing, marketing and selling coffee; growing, packing and exporting avocado; growing, packing and exporting macadamia; and value addition for the local retail market.

  • Coffee drove the FY2025 turnaround. The company says its coffee trading unit made its highest-ever profit from specialty markets and direct sales, despite lower estate output.
  • Tea produced 12,986,084 kg and realised $1.94 per kg, up from $1.58, but faced global oversupply and Sudan’s ban on Kenyan tea.
  • Avocado and macadamia were hit by longer shipping times that affected fruit quality, and by higher costs.

The Mweiga Estates sale

The biggest event of the year was the agreed sale of the Gulmarg Division of Mweiga Estates for KSh 7,900 million, which Sasini says is a 109% premium over its carrying value of KSh 3,776.9 million. About KSh 3.7 billion of coffee assets were held for sale at year end, pushing liquidity to 3.5 times. Management says this lets it fund 2026 expansion without expensive bank loans. Whether the proceeds lead to a special or resumed dividend is a question for the FY2026 results; the company has not announced one.

How Sasini’s balance sheet compares with its share price

The gap between net asset value and market price is a common talking point for Sasini shareholders. With NAV per share at KSh 93.87, investors can compare that figure with the current SASN price on the NSE to see the discount at which the market values the company’s land and crops. A wide discount can reflect low dividends, thin trading and the cyclical nature of tea and coffee prices. Check the live price with your stockbroker or the NSE before acting, because agricultural counters can move sharply on results days.

What to watch for the next Sasini dividend

  1. The results for the year to 30 September 2026, published as an announcement on the NSE and sasini.co.ke.
  2. Whether the board recommends a dividend, and its book closure and payment dates.
  3. The AGM notice. The FY2025 AGM, Sasini’s 74th, was held on 5 March 2026.

Sasini’s own outlook says fiscal 2026 should benefit from restored trade routes, coffee price support, a recovering tea business and cost discipline. This is not investment advice.
