Gusii Mwalimu DT Sacco, the Kisii-based Sacco that grew out of the teaching profession, declared a 16% dividend on share capital and 11% interest on deposits for the year ended 31 December 2025. The rates were announced at its Annual Delegates Meeting at Itibo Resort in Kisii County on 25 February 2026. Use the calculator below to estimate your own payout.
Rates are what was last published, gross of tax. Money market funds are compounded monthly; bills, bonds, deposits and SACCO returns are worked out as simple interest. Your actual return will differ.
The preset uses the 11% deposit rate. Change it to 16% and enter your share capital to estimate the dividend. The 5% withholding tax on Sacco payouts is deducted for you.
Gusii Mwalimu’s 2025 Results
| Measure | 2024 | 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total assets | KSh 16.2 billion | KSh 18.4 billion | +13.3% |
| Member deposits | KSh 11.1 billion | KSh 12.5 billion | +12.1% |
| Loans | KSh 14.03 billion | KSh 16.9 billion | +20.9% |
| Revenue | KSh 2.6 billion | KSh 2.9 billion | +14% |
| Members | 31,502 | 34,839 | +11% |
Core capital rose to KSh 3.6 billion and institutional capital to KSh 2.7 billion. Notice that loans (KSh 16.9 billion) are larger than deposits (KSh 12.5 billion). The Sacco lends heavily to its members, which is what funds the 11% rebate, but it also means loan repayment discipline matters for future payouts.
The Sacco recruited 8,403 new members in 2025 and opened satellite offices in Migori, Homa Bay and Narok, so it now serves members well beyond Kisii and Nyamira.
What 11% and 16% Mean for You
