How to Apply for KMTC Jobs

  1. Open the recruitment portal. Type recruit.kmtc.ac.ke/jobs into your browser. The Active Adverts page lists every open position with its advert number, grade, number of posts and closing date.
  2. Sign in or register. Follow the portal’s prompts to create your applicant profile if you are a first time user. Use an email address and phone number you check daily, since shortlisting and interview notices are sent to them.
  3. Fill in your profile. Enter your academic and professional qualifications, registration with your professional body where relevant, and your work history. Only list certificates you will actually hold by 30 October.
  4. Pick the vacancy. Open the advert details, confirm you meet every requirement and apply for that specific advert number.
  5. Review and submit. Check every section before you submit, then keep a screenshot or printout of the confirmation.

Apply early. Government recruitment portals slow down in the final days before a deadline, and KMTC does not accept emailed or hand delivered applications as a substitute.

Clearances You Will Need If Successful

KMTC has said successful candidates must present the following before they receive offer letters. Several take days or weeks to process, so start now rather than waiting for an interview call.

Clearance Issued by Where to get help
Tax compliance certificate Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Our KRA tax compliance certificate guide
Clearance certificate Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Our HELB clearance certificate explainer
Credit report clearance A licensed Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) How to check your CRB status
Ethics clearance Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Apply through EACC’s self declaration form
Certificate of good conduct Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Apply on eCitizen; create an eCitizen account first if needed

Shortlisted candidates must also bring their original National ID, academic and professional certificates and transcripts to the interview. If an online form rejects a scanned file for being too large, our free good conduct certificate compressor shrinks it in your browser without uploading it anywhere. For a fuller checklist, see our guide to documents needed for job applications in Kenya.

Warnings from KMTC

  • Giving false information in an application is an offence.
  • Presenting fake certificates or documents is a criminal offence.
  • Canvassing, meaning lobbying anyone to influence the outcome, leads to automatic disqualification.
  • KMTC describes itself as an equal opportunity employer and encourages youth, women, persons with disabilities and members of minority groups to apply.

As with any public recruitment, nobody can sell you a KMTC job. Ignore anyone asking for money to guarantee a post or an interview slot.

Tips for a Stronger Application

  • Apply only for posts where you meet every listed requirement. Shortlisting panels screen against the advert, and near misses are usually dropped.
  • Match your job titles and dates exactly to your certificates and letters, so the panel can verify them quickly.
  • Keep your professional licence current. For clinical posts, an expired practising licence can disqualify you.
  • If you are a recent graduate interested in studying rather than teaching at KMTC, our KMTC intake guide covers courses and entry grades, and the list of KMTC campuses by county shows where each campus is.
