BAT Sacco Loans 2026: Development, Super Flexi, Mega and Salary Advance Rates

BAT Sacco Loans 2026: Development, Super Flexi, Mega and Salary Advance Rates

Updated 31 October 2026

BAT Regulated NWDT Sacco’s cheapest loan is the Development Loan at 12% a year on a reducing balance, for up to KSh 1.5 million over 60 months. Super Development costs 12.5% (from KSh 1.5 million, 72 months) and Super Flexi 13.5% (84 months, 4 times deposits). The larger Mega, Premier and Platinum loans run from 15.5% to 17.5% a year. Most loans lend up to 3 times your deposits and carry a 1% insurance fee. All terms come from BAT Sacco’s credit products page, checked on October 31, 2026. In several product descriptions the page writes “% per month” next to a headline that says “% p.a.”. The annual reading is the one that makes sense (17.5% a month would be extreme), so we use annual rates here. Confirm with the Sacco.

Salary Advance

The Salary Advance lends up to KSh 100,000 at 10% a month on a reducing balance with no guarantor, repaid through payroll check-off. The page gives the repayment period as both 6 months and 3 months. Members with a Mobi Loan cannot take it.

An odd pricing pattern

At most Saccos, bigger and longer loans cost more. At BAT, the smaller Platinum (KSh 2 million) and Premier (KSh 2.5 million) loans cost more than the larger Jiendeleze (KSh 5 million at 14.5%). Before choosing by product name, check which product you qualify for at the lowest rate.

Here is our own estimate using standard amortisation, not a Sacco quote. KSh 1.5 million over 60 months costs about KSh 33,400 a month at 12% (Development) and about KSh 37,700 a month at 17.5% (Platinum). Total interest is roughly KSh 502,000 versus KSh 761,000. Our reducing-balance calculator guide shows how to check these figures.

How to apply

  1. Download the loan form for your product from the Sacco’s page and fill it in.
  2. Attach copies of IDs for yourself, your witness and your guarantors.
  3. Attach your latest payslip for payroll loans, or 3 months of certified bank statements for non-payroll loans, plus a standing order covering loan repayments and deposits.
  4. Send the documents. The Sacco texts you when processing starts and pays the money into your bank account once approved.
