Online Gigs in Kenya: Verified Platforms and Kenya Eligibility Tracker

Every platform on this page has been checked against its own official pages, dated and graded. Most “online jobs in Kenya” lists copy each other, and many are out of date. Some still tell readers that Remotasks accepts Kenyans, more than two years after Scale AI cut off Kenyan workers on 8 March 2024 (Rest of World). This section does it differently: one dated check per platform, a source link for every claim about eligibility, pay or payouts, and “unverified” written wherever we couldn’t confirm something.

Kenya Eligibility Tracker

Use the buttons to filter. “Accepts Kenya” means the platform’s own published rules for people living in Kenya, not citizenship. Tap a platform name for the full check and its sources.

How We Check a Platform

  1. Official source first. We read the platform’s own country list, FAQ and payout documentation, not other blogs.
  2. Date everything. Every page carries a “Last verified” date, and we re-check every platform at least once a month.
  3. Same-day changes. If a platform drops Kenya or stops paying, its badge changes the day we confirm it, and we publish a short news update saying what changed.
  4. No guesses. If we couldn’t confirm pay, payout routes or eligibility, the page says “unverified.”
  5. No shortcuts. We never cover account renting or selling, borrowed IDs, VPN tricks or anything else that breaks a platform’s rules. These get people banned and their earnings frozen.
Never pay to get work. No legitimate platform on this page charges a registration or “activation” fee. If someone asks for money before you can start, or moves the conversation to WhatsApp to “release tasks,” stop. You can report fraud to the DCI.

Did a platform pay you, or refuse to? Your report helps us keep this tracker accurate: send it to info@businessradar.co.ke with the platform name, the date, how you were paid and any problems. By sending a report you agree we may use it. We check every report before using it, never publish anything unmoderated, and always blur names, phone numbers, account numbers and amounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AI training jobs accept Kenyans?

Of the platforms checked so far, micro1 doesn’t exclude Kenya, and OpenTrain AI lists Kenya for payouts. Outlier, DataAnnotation and Remotasks don’t accept Kenyan residents. Prolific admits a small number by invitation only. See the tracker above for dates and sources.

Can I get paid through M-Pesa?

None of these platforms pays straight to M-Pesa. The usual routes are PayPal to M-Pesa through Safaricom’s M-Pesa PayPal service, or a Kenyan bank account to M-Pesa. Each platform page says which route applies and whether we’ve confirmed it.

Is a platform legit if it asks for a registration fee?

No legitimate platform in this tracker charges workers to join. A fee to start work is a red flag.
