Padel shoes in Nairobi

Padel is played on artificial grass with sand, so proper padel shoes (with a herringbone or mixed sole) grip better and protect ankles more than running shoes. Decathlon’s Kuikma range on its Kenya site, checked 28 October 2026:

Shoe Price
Kuikma PS Team (men’s, blue or white) KSh 8,150
Kuikma PS Dynamic (end of line) KSh 10,900
Kuikma PS Stab KSh 11,900 (was KSh 14,400)

Craig’s also sells padel shoes, balls and accessories in its padel section; stock varies, so check its site or call the shop.

Balls, bags and grips

  • Balls: Craig’s lists HEAD Padel Pro at KSh 1,495 a can, with a two-can offer at KSh 2,000.
  • Bags: HEAD Base Padel Bag (medium) KSh 7,990 at Craig’s.
  • Grips and protection: HEAD Dual Absorbing replacement grip KSh 1,290; HEAD Antishock Skin KSh 1,990.

Where to buy padel rackets in Nairobi

  • BFit Pro Shop: BFit Arena, Academy Road, off Langata Road, Karen; open daily 8am to 10pm. Free collection, or delivery within Nairobi for KSh 300 to KSh 800 per order in one to three working days. BFit PlayPass members get 10% off.
  • Craig’s Ltd: Sarit Centre, Lower Ground Floor, Westlands. Also sells online.
  • Decathlon Kenya: buy online at decathlon.co.ke or at its stores.

How to choose your first padel racket

  1. Shape: round rackets have the biggest sweet spot and are the most forgiving; teardrop balances power and control; diamond gives the most power but punishes off-centre hits.
  2. Weight: most adult rackets weigh 340g to 375g. Lighter rackets are easier on the arm; BFit lists its three at 345g plus or minus 10g, and Decathlon’s PR Open around 320g.
  3. Foam: soft foam is more comfortable and helps beginners; hard foam suits strong, fast hitters.
  4. Try first: ask your court whether it hires out rackets, and play a few sessions before spending KSh 20,000 or more.

Buying abroad or second-hand

Rackets bought on overseas Black Friday sales are not duty-free. A parcel from outside the EAC is assessed for import duty and 16% VAT, plus handling, which can wipe out the discount; see import duty on online shopping in Kenya. Second-hand rackets from club noticeboards and WhatsApp groups can be good value, but check the face for cracks and the frame for chips, and ask for the original receipt if the seller claims the racket is new.

Starter budget

Padel rackets in Nairobi are the biggest single cost. Entry-level kit from the prices above: Decathlon racket KSh 5,350 + Kuikma PS Team shoes KSh 8,150 + two cans of balls KSh 2,000 = KSh 15,500. A mid-range set with a BFit Control racket instead comes to KSh 30,150. Court time is extra; see every padel court in Nairobi and its price and beginner padel clinics and Americanos. If you prefer other clubs and sports, compare golf green fees in Nairobi and Parklands Sports Club membership fees.
