Tower Sacco Loans 2026: Business, Salaried, Kilimo and Asset Finance Loans Explained

Tower Sacco Loans 2026: Business, Salaried, Kilimo and Asset Finance Loans Explained

Updated 31 October 2026

Tower Sacco, headquartered at Tower Sacco Plaza in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua, lends to three main groups: people running businesses (Premium, Fosa Flex and Asset Finance loans), salaried members whose employers have a check-off deal with the Sacco (Vuka, Normal, FOSA, Emergency loans and Salary Advance), and farmers and groups (Kilimo Advanced and Group Premium loans). Repayment periods run from 12 months for an emergency loan to 132 months for the Vuka salaried loan. Every figure below comes from Tower Sacco’s own loan product pages, checked on October 31, 2026. The Sacco does not publish interest rates on these pages, so use its online loan calculator or call 0792 333 111 for the current rate before you apply.

Tower Sacco business loans

Business loans are for members who have run a legally recognised business for at least six months and can show they can repay.

Loan Purpose Maximum tenor Deposit needed
Premium Loan Working capital 4 years Share deposits of one third of the loan, plus KSh 2,000 share capital
Fosa Flex Loan Working capital, buying off loans from other lenders, consolidating debt 96 months Share deposits of one fifth of the loan, plus KSh 2,000 share capital
Asset Finance Loan Vehicles, tractors and specialised machinery 5 years Share deposits of 20% of the loan

Fosa Flex is calculated on a reducing balance and the amount depends on your proven cash flow. For Premium and Fosa Flex loans you repay through daily collections on your account or by standing order. Security can be your own deposits, guarantors, a motor vehicle, or a legal charge over the property being bought or built. Fire and perils insurance on the property is required. Asset Finance can cover the full cost of the asset. The asset itself is the main security, and it must have comprehensive insurance.

Tower Sacco salaried (check-off) loans

These loans are for members whose employer deducts repayments straight from the payslip. The Sacco says money can be paid out within hours once it has all the documents.

Loan Amount Maximum tenor Key condition
Vuka Loan KSh 100,000 to KSh 5 million 132 months or until retirement, whichever comes first No guarantors and no deposit multiplier; for permanent and pensionable staff
Normal Loan Based on ability to pay 84 months 5 times share deposits; 3 guarantors
FOSA Loan Based on ability to pay 96 months 6 times shares; 3 guarantors
Emergency Loan 12 Based on ability to pay 12 months Taken alongside another loan; 3 guarantors
Emergency Loan 24 Based on ability to pay 36 months 5 times shares; 3 guarantors
Salary Advance Up to KSh 50,000 12 months Salary must come through FOSA; 2 guarantors

The Vuka loan stands out because you can apply before becoming a member. Your salary is the security and the monthly repayment must fit in your payslip. New members have a minimum deposit of KSh 20,000 and KSh 10,000 share capital taken off upfront. It can be used for development projects, to buy off loans from other lenders or to combine debts. Emergency loans are open to contract staff as well as permanent employees.

Kilimo Advanced Loan for farmers

The Kilimo Advanced Loan is for dairy and horticulture farmers and supports climate-smart farming practices. To qualify you need:

  • membership of at least six weeks and proof of where you live or where the project is;
  • positive net farm and household income, with the loan repayment taking no more than 50% of net cash flow;
  • a clean credit reference bureau report.

Tenors run from 3 to 36 months. Individuals can borrow up to four times their deposits, depending on ability to pay, and 25% of the loan goes into a non-withdrawable deposit account. Guarantors sign a chattel mortgage, and the Sacco may ask for a letter of undertaking from your milk processor or produce buyer, plus logbooks or title deeds. Tower Sacco says it approves the loan within 48 hours of getting a complete application.

Mapato Loan and Group Premium Loan

Mapato Loan: you borrow against your expected dividends and rebates for the next four years and repay within four years. Eligibility depends on those dividends, not on your income. All your loans, and any loans you guarantee, must be up to date with no past defaults. Instalments due before the next dividend payout are deducted when the loan is paid out.

Group Premium Loan: this medium-term loan is for registered investment groups, self-help groups and community-based organisations with more than six members. The group must be registered with the social services office, have saved with Tower Sacco for at least three months, and pass a minuted resolution to borrow. It can borrow up to four times the deposits in the group account and repay over up to 60 months.

How to apply for a Tower Sacco loan

  1. Choose the product that fits your income: business, salaried or farming.
  2. Download the loan form from the product page or pick one up at a branch (see our Tower Sacco branches list).
  3. Gather the documents: ID, payslips or business cash-flow records, guarantor details, and logbooks or title deeds if you are offering collateral.
  4. Make sure you have the required deposit or share capital in your account.
  5. Hand in the form and wait for approval and security registration before the money is paid out.

Is Tower Sacco a good place to borrow?

Its main strengths are long repayment periods (up to 11 years on Vuka) and high multipliers (6 times shares on the FOSA loan). Because rates are not published, compare the total cost with other Saccos in our Sacco loan comparison before you sign. Guarantors are liable if you default, so make sure yours understand the commitment.

Frequently asked questions

How many times my savings can I borrow at Tower Sacco?

It depends on the loan: 5 times share deposits on the Normal and Emergency 24 loans, 6 times on the FOSA loan, 4 times on Kilimo Advanced and Group Premium loans, and no multiplier on the Vuka loan.

Does Tower Sacco give loans without guarantors?

Yes. The Vuka salaried loan needs no guarantors because your salary is the security, but you must be a permanent and pensionable employee on check-off.
