eCitizen Customer Care Contacts (2026): Phone Number, Email and How to Fix Common Problems

eCitizen Customer Care Contacts (2026): Phone Number, Email and How to Fix Common Problems

Updated 31 October 2026

The eCitizen customer care contact number is +254 20 790 3260, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the support email is support@ecitizen.go.ke. You can also get in-person help at any Huduma Centre. These contacts are listed on eCitizen’s own help and support page. Below is how to use them for the most common problems: payments that do not reflect, missing one-time passwords (OTPs) and locked accounts.

eCitizen customer care contact number and channels

Channel Details Best for
Phone +254 20 790 3260 (24/7) Urgent issues, payment problems
Email support@ecitizen.go.ke Issues needing screenshots or receipts
In person Any Huduma Centre Identity checks, account recovery, help applying

For service-specific problems, the agency that processes your application is often faster. For example, driving licence and vehicle issues go to NTSA (see NTSA contacts), business names and companies to the Business Registration Service, and passports to the Department of Immigration.

Payment made but not reflecting

  1. Wait about 30 minutes and refresh the invoice; M-Pesa confirmations sometimes arrive late.
  2. Check that you used the right paybill and the exact bill reference number shown on the invoice.
  3. Keep the M-Pesa confirmation message and transaction code.
  4. If it still shows unpaid, email support@ecitizen.go.ke with your ID number, the invoice or bill reference, the M-Pesa code, amount and date, and a screenshot. Or call the 24-hour line.
  5. Do not pay a second time unless support tells you to. Double payments are slow to refund.

Not receiving the OTP

  • Confirm your phone number and email in your profile are current.
  • Check your SMS inbox for blocked promotional messages, and your email spam folder.
  • Wait a few minutes before requesting a new code; repeated requests can lock the account temporarily.
  • If you no longer have the phone number on your account, you will need customer care or a Huduma Centre to verify your identity and update it.

Forgotten password or locked account

Use the “Forgot password” link on the login page and follow the reset steps sent to your phone or email. Our guide on how to log in to eCitizen explains the current login page, and how to create an eCitizen account covers registration for new users and for minors’ and foreigners’ accounts.

Application stuck or rejected

Open the application in your dashboard and read the status and any comment from the reviewing officer. A request for more documents or a correction usually appears there. If nothing has changed for longer than the service’s stated processing time, contact the relevant agency first, then eCitizen support. For example, couples registering a marriage can follow our civil marriage guide for the steps and documents.

Avoid fake eCitizen agents

Use only the official ecitizen.go.ke domain. Fake pages and “agents” on social media ask people to pay into personal numbers. Government services on eCitizen are paid through the official bill reference and paybill shown on your invoice. eCitizen support will not ask for your password or your M-Pesa PIN.

What to include when you contact support

  • Your full name and ID or passport number.
  • The service you were using and the application or invoice number.
  • Payment details: M-Pesa or bank reference, amount, date and time.
  • A screenshot of the error message.

Giving all of this in the first message avoids back-and-forth and gets problems fixed faster.
