What you can do online instead of visiting

Most NTSA services now start online, so check before you queue:

You will still need to visit an office for biometrics and to collect some documents, such as a smart DL or number plates.

How to make a complaint to NTSA

  1. Email complaints@ntsa.go.ke with your ID number, phone number, vehicle registration or licence number, and the eCitizen invoice or reference involved.
  2. Describe the problem and attach screenshots or receipts.
  3. Keep the reference number from any reply and follow up by phone if you get no answer.

Tips before you visit an NTSA office

Queues at NTSA offices are often long, especially at the start and end of the month when many people renew licences or transfer vehicles. Arrive early, carry your original ID and copies, and bring the eCitizen invoice and payment confirmation for the service you want. Check that the names on your ID, KRA PIN and logbook match, because mismatched names are one of the most common reasons applications get stuck. If you are collecting a smart driving licence, confirm by phone that it has been delivered to the office you selected before you travel. Beware of people outside offices offering to speed up the process for a fee; pay only through eCitizen and keep your receipts.
