Police Sacco Loans 2026: Jumbo, Bima, Premier and Super Loan Rates and Repayment Periods

Updated 31 October 2026

Kenya National Police DT Sacco lends up to 5 times your deposits on almost all of its BOSA loans. Rates run from 10% a year on a reducing balance for the 12-month Bima Loan to 15.6% a year for the 108-month Jumbo Loan. The Normal, Refinancing, Emergency, School Fees and Asset Finance loans all cost 12% a year. Muslim members can take interest-free loans for a one-off 7% commission. All loans are paid out through POFOSA, the Sacco’s front office. Monthly deposits are set at 12% of basic salary. The figures below come from the Sacco’s credit products page, checked on October 31, 2026.

Police Sacco BOSA loan schedule

Which Police Sacco loan is cheapest for you?

Longer loans cost more twice over: the rate is higher and you pay it for longer. Here is our own estimate using a standard amortisation formula, not a Sacco quote. KSh 1 million on the Normal Loan (12%, 48 months) costs about KSh 26,300 a month and roughly KSh 264,000 in total interest. On the Jumbo Loan (15.6%, 108 months) the monthly payment drops to about KSh 17,300, but total interest rises to roughly KSh 867,000.

So choose Jumbo or Premier only if your payslip cannot carry a shorter loan. The Bima Loan at 10% is the cheapest product, but it must be repaid within 12 months. The FOSA salary advances charge 2% to 4% a month, or 24% to 48% a year at simple rates, so use them only to bridge a short gap.

How to apply

  1. Make sure your monthly deposits (12% of basic pay) are up to date, since every limit is a multiple of deposits.
  2. Download the loan request form from the Sacco’s credit products page.
  3. Attach your latest payslips and guarantor details and submit through POFOSA or a Sacco office.
  4. Check that the new deduction leaves you within the payroll one-third rule.
